Workplace Investigations · Remote, Nationwide

A neutral investigator with no stake in the outcome.

When a complaint lands, the people closest to it are usually the worst people to investigate it. I run workplace investigations as an outside, neutral party, and give you findings you can act on.

What I investigate

Complaints that need a fair process.

  • Harassment and discrimination complaints
  • Retaliation complaints
  • Complaints about a manager or senior leader
  • Misconduct and policy violations
  • Situations where HR or leadership is too close to the people involved

How it works

  • Scope. A free call to understand the complaint, who's involved, and what needs to be answered.
  • Interviews and evidence. I interview the person who complained, the person accused, and witnesses, and review documents, messages, and records.
  • Findings. You get a written report with a conclusion on each allegation.
  • Next steps. What happens next is your call. I can help you plan the conversations that follow.

Interviews are done remotely, so I work with companies anywhere in the U.S., subject to each state's rules on who can investigate.

FAQ

Common questions

When should a company bring in an outside investigator?

When the complaint involves a senior leader, when everyone internal has a stake in the outcome, when HR is too close to the people involved, or when you want the process to hold up if it's challenged later.

What kinds of complaints do you investigate?

Harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and misconduct complaints, plus complaints about managers and leaders.

What do we get at the end?

A written report of findings: what was alleged, who was interviewed, what the evidence shows, and a conclusion on each allegation. What to do about it stays your decision, and I can help you plan that conversation.

Can you investigate in any state?

Some states, like California, require outside workplace investigators to be licensed private investigators or attorneys. Tell me where the people involved are located and I'll let you know whether I can take it on or refer you to someone who can.

What does it cost?

Investigations are scoped per case, based on the number of people involved and the complexity. We'll scope it on a free 30-minute call.
